Warning: Lots of pictures!
This last weekend we went to southern Utah. Our plan was to go down in our RV and camp at Zion National Park, then spend one day in St. George and see family. It was quite an adventure.
The kids loved riding in the RV. We named her Ruby Sue. (Ruby Sue is Cousin Eddie's daughter on Griswold Family Christmas. It was fitting since they lived in an RV. My brother, Jeremy helped us name her. Isn't he creative??) It is kind of a pain to try and keep them in their seats. They wanted to be up and playing. Neither one of them slept the whole way down. (Six hours) We blew a tire when we were about an hour away from Zions. Phil is a champ and got the tire all changed. By that time the kids were tired and hungry, so we stopped for the night.
The tire was shredded!
The next day, we drove into St. George to buy another tire....just incase. So, while Phil was at the tire store, the kids and I went and visited my grandma. She didn't know we were coming, so it was so fun to suprise her! We spent the afternoon at her house visiting with her and my grandpa. That night we parked the Ruby Sue at my cousins, Carl and Danielle's house. We had dinner with them and let the kids play. The next day they came to Zion's with us and hiked around. It was a beautiful day!
I am not really a fan of scenic pictures, but southern Utah is so pretty with the red rock canyons. I couldn't resist.
Our family at Zion's.
We camped in Zion's the last night. Carlee got sick, so it was a long night. Come Sunday morning we were ready to come home. It was our first trip with Ruby Sue and we learned a lot, like make sure you dump your holding tank so it won't back up into your bath tub. All in all she ran like a beauty!
Don't worry, we blew another tire on the way home! Glad we picked up that tire!
I think we will just be taking her up the canyon from now on. She is a 1984 model.
